1. Reliability: Honda is renowned for its durability and the Civic CRX is no exception. If the PM3 cylinder head has been well-maintained, it should provide a solid foundation for the vehicle.
2. Fuel Efficiency: The CRX is known for its excellent fuel economy, making it an economical choice for daily commuting.
3. Handling: The CRX is praised for its agile handling, making it fun to drive, especially on winding roads.
4. Parts Availability: As a common model, finding replacement parts for the CRX should be relatively easy.
Cons:1. Age: The vehicle is quite old, which means it may require more frequent maintenance and repairs.
2. Aesthetics: The styling of the CRX may not appeal to everyone, and the 1989 model in particular may look dated compared to more modern vehicles.
3. Interior Space: Compared to modern cars, the CRX offers limited interior space, which might be a disadvantage for those needing to transport passengers or cargo regularly.
4. Safety: Older vehicles may lack modern safety features, such as airbags and electronic stability control, which could be a concern for some buyers.
Ending Conclusion:The 1989 Honda Civic CRX EF 1.6 with the PM3 cylinder head can be a rewarding purchase for those seeking a reliable, fuel-efficient, and fun-to-drive vehicle with good parts availability. However, potential buyers should be prepared for the additional maintenance and repair costs associated with an older vehicle, and consider the limitations in terms of aesthetics, interior space, and safety features.
Recommendation:If you're willing to accept these trade-offs and are drawn to the CRX's unique combination of performance, fuel economy, and reliability, then this vehicle could be a great choice for you. It's essential to have the vehicle thoroughly inspected by a trusted mechanic before making a purchase to ensure that the PM3 cylinder head and other components are in good condition. If the vehicle checks out and the price is reasonable, you could be on your way to enjoying a classic Honda driving experience.
